Take on winter in this hooded wetsuit from Prolimit

The Prolimit Vapor 6/4 C-zip Hooded 2027 is the most technical wetsuit Prolimit makes. With 6/4mm thickness and a hood, this is the wetsuit for the months when the water sits around five degrees and the wind cuts straight through everything. That is exactly when you want a wetsuit that keeps you warm without your arms feeling worn out after twenty minutes. The Vapor is built for that.

The warmth comes from the Thermal Rebound2 lining. That technology goes back to the survival blankets NASA developed in the seventies for manned space missions. The layer reflects your own body heat back inside and blocks windchill, without needing thick, stiff layers to do it. Underneath sits the Zodiac2 lining, a plush thermal fleece that pulls moisture off your skin and releases it again quickly. You notice the result mostly back on the beach: the Vapor hangs out to dry a lot faster than you are used to.

On the outside you get V4X, a fabric that stretches in every direction, dries fast and barely lets any wind through. The rubber underneath is NaturePrene2, and that is completely neoprene-free. It is eighty percent natural rubber from FSC-certified plantations, topped up with recycled carbon black, oyster shell powder and soybean oil. Lighter, stretchier and a lot kinder to the ocean you are standing in. The panels are bonded with water-based Aqua Alpha glue.

The seams are triple glued and finished with the Fluid Taping Method, where a liquid rubber seal closes off the seam and stretches along with the material. That keeps the wetsuit flexible and gives water almost no chance to seep in. New is the C-zip construction with a YKK zipper and panels built around it. Getting in is easy and the closure sits low on your chest, exactly where you want freedom of movement. If some water does get in after a hard crash, the drainholes flush it straight back out. Ankle straps keep everything in place and the KED knee panels stretch with you when you drop deep into your knees.
